❤️‍🔥 Heart Pain: Don’t Ignore the Warning Signs

Home - Blog Detail

Heart pain, often described as chest pain, is one of the most alarming symptoms a person can experience. While not all chest pain is related to the heart, cardiac-related chest pain can be life-threatening, especially if it’s a sign of a heart attack.

At RNC Hospitals, we take every case of heart pain seriously with immediate evaluation, advanced diagnostics, and 24/7 emergency cardiac care.

💓 What is Heart Pain?

Heart pain typically feels like pressure, tightness, heaviness, or a squeezing sensation in the chest. It may also spread to the shoulders, arms, neck, jaw, or back. Sometimes, it’s accompanied by shortness of breath, sweating, nausea, or dizziness.

This type of pain is often linked to reduced blood flow to the heart muscle, known as angina, or could be the first sign of a heart attack (myocardial infarction).

⚠️ Common Causes of Heart Pain

  1. Heart-Related Causes:
    • Angina (reduced blood flow to the heart)
    • Heart Attack
    • Pericarditis (inflammation of the heart lining)
    • Cardiomyopathy (weakened heart muscle)
  2. Non-Cardiac Causes:
    • Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD)
    • Muscle strain
    • Panic attacks or anxiety
    • Lung conditions like pneumonia or pleuritis

Proper diagnosis is crucial to identify the cause and provide appropriate treatment.
